Taking Japanese Health Foods to Taiwan

A practical sequence for product classification, ingredient review, Chinese labeling, border inspection, and market communication in Taiwan.

Confirm importability before translating the pack

A product already sold in Japan is not automatically ready for Taiwan. Product classification, ingredient and additive eligibility, importer status, and possible border-inspection requirements should be reviewed before artwork begins.

Chinese labeling must match the actual specification

The product name, ingredients, additives, nutrition panel, date marking, storage, origin, and importer information must be consistent with manufacturing and test records. A literal translation of Japanese terminology may not satisfy Taiwan labeling conventions.

Japanese market history supports trust, not automatic claims

Japanese sales history and Foods with Function Claims notifications may provide useful commercial context, but they do not automatically authorize equivalent claims in Taiwan. Final communication must be assessed under Taiwan rules and the overall advertising impression.
